Our InventoryWe maintain a collection of violin, viola, cello, and bass bows in all price ranges from beginner to advanced professional. Some of these bows are production items, but our inventory reflects our emphasis on quality handmade bows by individual makers. Our older bows as well as bows by living makers include certificates of authenticity with sale and have all been restored to the best possible condition in our workshop.
Consignments are accepted on a case-by-case basis so don’t hesitate to contact us with a description and photos of your bow for consideration. We also offer a good selection of excellent student violin, viola, cello, and bass bows made by Arcos Brasil, Otto Musica, Doerfler, and Knoll. These bows are priced from $90-$2,500. I offer the following for my collection of fine, handmade and rare bows:
Trials Bows and instruments are best trialled in person so that we can answer any questions you may have about them, so please schedule an appointment to spend some time in our trial room to explore our collection of bows. After your in-shop trial, you may take up to four bows and two instruments for a one week in-home trial after visiting the shop. If travel to our shop is not possible, we can offer trials by mail. I include one handwritten Certificate of Authenticity with a purchase of bows made by me. This can be used for travel (proof of ownership and customs declarations) and insurance valuations. This paper should accompany the bow in the event of a future sale. I guarantee the bow for one year from invoice date against flaws in manufacture. This guarantee excludes customer damage, negligence, and excessive or exceptional wear. I also request that the bow come to my shop at the end of this period for a free checkup and cleaning. |
